Dr. John Vertefeuille will be our special guest, partnering with Pastor Dan Neary, for a seven-week series from The Lord's Prayer.

Here's a few details to help you get to know John.

DMin - Fuller Theological Seminary
Pastor for 30 years
Adjunct Faculty, Northwest University

Today’s Favorite Quote:
“The only opinion about dream that really counts is yours. The negative comments of others merely reflect their limitations – not yours.” – Cynthia Kersey

What you might find me doing on a day off:
Oil painting, golfing, browsing art galleries, cooking, or drinking coffee (tall drip, no room) with friends.

My iPod:
Totally eclectic - including Van Morrison, Anita Baker, The Beatles, Coco Montoya, ColdPlay, Judy Collins, and Donny Osmond (pretty scary eh?)

Greatest thing ever written:
The musical Les Miserable’s - unbelievable!

Things that annoy me:
People who pop their gum, throw cigarette butts on the ground, use cell phones in movies.

Food:
Mexican - the hotter the better.

Best Reads:
The Grapes of Wrath, Snow Falling on Cedar, A Prayer for Owen Meany, Disappointment with God, anything by E.B. White

What freaks me out:
The flying monkeys on the Wizard of Oz, heights and roller coasters.

I enjoy:
Generosity, road trips, good writing, great art, the Fall (the season, not the theological explanation for man's sinful nature).

My family:
Married to Cindie in 1976 ("come grow old with me, the best is yet to be"). 5 children ("kids won't remember so much what you said, but how you made them feel").

Did you know:
Vertefeuille is French for "Greanleaf". There you have it.
