Lord
Jesus Christ, surely you are God. Yet you humbled
yourself and were born as a son of man. You willingly
surrendered glory for disgrace, honor for shame, and
life for death.
Out of
love and obedience you came to rescue humans as a human.
Thanks be to God! For as one human brought sin into the
world, only a human could pay the penalty, and only the
God-Man could bear the full weight of the sin.
We
repent of our shortcomings today. We accept the struggle
born of a new heart and rebuke the sin resident from an
old life. Together, we fall into the arms of your
sacrifice and accept salvation from the God who came as
a man. |

Creed: The Fall and
Salvation of Humans
What do we believe regarding the fall of humans and
the hope of salvation?
Humans were created good and upright. However, by
voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred not
only physical death but also spiritual death, which is
separation from God.
The only hope of redemption is through Jesus Christ the
Son of God. Salvation is received through repentance
toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. By the
regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being
justified by grace through faith, we become an heir of
God, according to the hope of eternal life.
