Call to Worship #15
Psalm 107:1-9

Psalm 107 speaks to how our hungry, lost souls are satisfied only by God Himself. We come to worship, and in the midst of our sacrifice to glorify God in worship he quenches our thirst and satisfies our hunger.  (Psalm 107:1-9)

O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good:
for his mercy endureth for ever.

Let the redeemed of the LORD say so,
whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
And gathered them out of the lands,
from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way;
they found no city to dwell in.
Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble,
and he delivered them out of their distresses.
And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness,
and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

Lord, we are empty.
Our struggles and wandering leave us battered and bruised;
but today we find ourselves gathered together.
We are here from the east and from the west… from the north, and from the south.
We are here hungry and thirsty… and we are here to worship you.
Renew our minds, encourage our hearts, refresh our strength,
bring to our minds remembrances of your goodness,
lift up our heads and hands so we may worship you.
We want everyone to know that we are a people who praise You for your goodness, people who worship you will all our hearts, all our minds, all our strength.
But more than that, we want all to know that you are worthy and glorious.
Help us today.
