Establishing the First Slate of Deacons

1. In consultation with the interim Leadership Council, the Pastor shall select a slate of seven Deacons. Three shall be presented with one-year terms, two shall be presented with two-year terms, two shall be presented with three-year terms.
2. The candidates shall meet the qualifications of Deacons set-forth in Policy 2.5, with the one exception that the candidates may be new members but shall have been regular attendees of the church for one prior to appointment.
3. The slate will be presented to the membership of the congregation for election (simple majority of members present). In the case that the slate is not elected, the Pastor will bring a modified slate to a subsequent meeting.
