Qualifications and Duties of Officers
Pastor
The Pastor shall be a member in good standing with the General Council
and/or the Northwest Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God and shall comply
with the Scriptural and Assembly of God standards for the ministry.
The Pastor shall be considered as spiritual overseer of the assembly
and shall direct all of its activities. The Pastor shall arrange for all
worship services of the Assembly. Together with the Leadership Council,
the Pastor shall arrange for special meetings and campaigns for the general good of
the Assembly and evangelizing the community.
Associate Pastor(s)
Associates and assistants are to report directly to the Pastor, and are
to share in carrying out responsibilities and duties as delegated by the
Pastor.
Deacons
There shall be seven (7) Deacons. Men and women who meet the following
qualifications are eligible to serve:
- Deacons shall be spirit-filled believers of mature Christian
experience.
- They shall be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- They shall have been lay members of The Chapel for one (1) year
prior to their election.
- They shall meet the Scriptural standards of 1 Timothy 3:8-13 and
Titus 1.
- They shall have been baptized in water as commanded by our Lord.

Leadership Council
- The Leadership Council will comprise the Deacons, the Pastor,
and the Associate Pastor(s).
- The Council shall act in a leadership capacity with the Pastor
in all matters pertaining to the Assembly including its spiritual life and
in the ministering of its ordinances.
- The Leadership Council at its discretion may conduct business in executive session
by limiting attendance, discussion and action to Deacons only. In the
case of a vote toward action, the votes of Pastors should be counted
as "abstained" but should be considered when establishing majority.
Chair of the Leadership Council
A qualified chair shall be chosen annually from among the members of
the Leadership Council by mutual agreement of the Leadership Council.
The Pastor may serve as chair; an Associate Pastor may not serve as
chair.
Duties
- Call and chair Leadership Council
meetings.
- Call and chair an annual congregational meeting, and any special
congregational meetings.
Secretary
A qualified secretary shall be chosen from among the members of the
Leadership Council by mutual agreement of the Leadership Council. The
Pastor or an Associate Pastor may serve as secretary.
Duties:
- The Secretary shall keep a true and accurate record of all the
meetings of the Assembly and the Official Board.
- The Secretary shall be the Custodian of all the legal documents
of the Assembly.
- The Secretary shall see to such other clerical duties that may
pertain to this office.
Treasurer
A qualified Treasurer shall be chosen from among the Deacons by mutual
agreement of the Leadership Council.
Duties:
- The Treasurer shall keep a true and accurate record of all
offerings.
- The Treasurer shall keep a true and accurate record of worship
service attendance.
- The Treasurer shall regularly review all budgets and
expenditures that pertain to the Assembly.
