On Epiphany Sunday we celebrate the baptism of Jesus and His anointing for ministry by laying hands on believers and praying for the anointing of the Holy Spirit on their life and ministry.
We believe that every good work should be done with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Rather than New Year's resolutions that seldom motivate, consider the spiritual dynamic of the anointing of the Holy Spirit as a transforming agent.
Just as Jesus, when he was ready to begin his ministry, was specially anointed by the Spirit, you should pray for a similar anointing to do the work God has given you to do.
If you teach, ask God for anointing to inspire people to learn. This is the spiritual gift of teaching. If you are a political leader, ask God for the gift of wisdom and leadership. If you are in medicine, ask God for the gift of discernment and healing. If your life is built around making money, ask God for the gift of giving. If you have never spoken in tongues, ask God to release his Spirit in your life for greater spiritual communion with him.
There are dozens of spiritual gifts that Jesus can give you. God's plan for your life is to do His will with His anointing. Personal and spiritual fulfillment are found in doing the good works that God has prepared in advance for you to do.
We also take this opportunity to baptize in water. If you need to baptized in water, you can read about it and sign up here.
