Presentation Sunday Success StoriesThese are just a few of the many miracle babies born from previous years. Page 1 | Page 2 | Page3 | Page 4 | Page 5
DorothyWe tried to conceive for 3 1/2 years using both conventional and alternative treatments before giving up hope. We felt a lot of grief and sadness but were willing to attend the Presentation Sunday Prayer Service. We decided that maybe God would answer our prayer through adoption or by our being a special friend to other children. Imagine how shocked we were to discover two weeks after the prayer service that we were pregnant. We named our baby Dorothy, after a family friend, and because the name means "God's gift". God sent this gift and miracle into our lives.
Haugo Family"No egg, no baby," were the exact words my doctor used to drive home the point that I did not ovulate and 'was not going to get pregnant without medical help.' My husband and I felt that God wanted us to wait for Him to work a miracle. We were prayed for on Presentation Sunday at our church. On June 21, 1996, our first miracle daughter, Richelle Christine, was born! Then, at last years Presentation Sunday service, we were prayed for again, conceived 2 months later, and just welcomed our second daughter into our family. Thank you Jesus!!
DesMarais FamilyWe have been married for seven years. After two years of marriage we began trying to have a baby. After a year of no luck, we sought help from a wonderful doctor. It was determined that I had endometriosis. In July, 1996 I underwent surgery to remove the endometriosis. We tried numerous treatments and procedures with no success. Last January we came to Presentation Sunday and were prayed for. The following month we underwent in-vitro fertilization and two weeks after the proceedure we heard the most joyous words from our doctor "Your Pregnant!" Two weeks later we found out we were blessed with twice- TWINS! Our babies due date was November 24, but on October 27,1998 ( four weeks early and almost exactly nine months from Presentation Sunday) our baby girls were born. They are both healthy and beautiful. We are truly grateful and truly blessed. God does answer prayers!
McKinzie FamilyGod has again surprised us with his amazing love and doubled our joy. On October 16th 1998 Justin Michael was born nine months after last years Presentation Sunday. Now we have the privilege to bring our second miracle son to the Lord on this years Presentation Sunday.
Jordan FamilyAfter 1 1/2 years of trying to have children the discouragement and self-doubt was overwhelming us. Luesa made an appointment to have more tests done to determine a medical reason for our difficulty (we had preliminary tests months earlier, with normal results). At this point in time, my brother Bob told us about the services Bob's church was having for couples struggling to conceive. We attended the service, and when the call was given we walked to the front of the church holding hands. We got down on our knees and asked to be prayed for. We were given a card that had a prayer for us to use to ask God to bless us with children. Five weeks after being at the service we conceived our son. The mountain of stones was lifted! It was only the we fully realized how discouraged we had been. Our son Nicholas Scott Jordan was born on November 12, 1998. The prayer card we received at the service has been in our bible from the beginning. It will soon go into Nicholas' baby book, a reminder of that Presentation Sunday.
Yonker FamilyWe are Catholic and belong to St. Mark's Parish in North Seattle. After miscarrying our first child in 1995, and having two surgeries for endometriosis, we tried again for another baby. After six months with no success, our friends Eric and Jeanine Graham invited us to be prayed for on Presentation Sunday last year. After attending mass at our parish we came to Cedar Park this special service. The Seattle Times printed our picture in the newspaper and we had an overwhelming response from people in our parish who joined in prayer for us to conceive. Three months later we conceived and are expecting a child on February 10th. We consider ourselves very blessed and thankful to all the people who have been praying for us.
Bahme FamilyWe had been married for 7 ½ years when we got pregnant with our first child, who was stillborn. After that loss we tried for more than a year to get pregnant again, but there was no success. We had to face the truth that children might not ever be a reality for us. In January of 1996 we went to Presentation Sunday at Cedar Park and were prayed for. Through the miraculous intervention of God, two months later we discovered that we were pregnant and nine months later, on November 18, 1996, our little Alyssa Rose was born. God does indeed answer prayer!
Graham FamilyWe had been married about a year when we decided it was time to start our family. I thought that after about 3 or 4 months we would be expecting our first child. After about 5 or 6 months I was a little discouraged. The time came for my annual exam and I was anxious to find out if something was wrong. The Dr. said that everything seemed to be all right and to give it more time. After about 8 months of trying, we were coming up on Presentation Sunday at our church. We discussed if we would go forward for prayer or not. We weren't sure if we were really qualified, after all, the Dr. had said everything looked okay and to give it more time. When that day came, we were sitting in church. When our Pastor asked for any couples who were having problems having children to come forward for prayer, we knew that we were qualified, and forward we went. Our son was conceived on that very day, January 26, 1992. Andrew Jacob Graham was born 9 months later on October 19, 1992!
When Andrew was about a year old, we started trying to have another baby. After a year of trying with no success, we decided we needed to go up and get prayed for again on Presentation Sunday. At my next annual exam, the Dr. did further tests and confirmed that everything was functioning as it should. He felt that I should have no problem getting pregnant since I had already had a baby. After another year of trying, we went up to get prayed for again. After two years of trying we were getting a little discouraged, but the Lord had answered our prayer once, and we were sure he would again. Another year went by and we went up for prayer again on Presentation Sunday 1997. There were a lot of changes that were to take place in our lives in 1997. The Lord had guided us to move our business to Alaska and we were in the process of buying our first home there. I had quit my job of 15 years and looked forward to staying home with Andrew full time. The Lord was blessing us with many things we thought we might never have. Three weeks before we were to move, I found out I was pregnant! Our prayer had been answered once again! Alisha Renee Graham was born on December 3, 1997, just about ten months after we were prayed for. God's timing is perfect!
Scott and Chrystal FredricksonAfter four miscarriages, we were discouraged and ready to give up. My wife has a genetic disorder (a translocation of chromosomes). The doctors encouraged us to keep trying. If we could make it past the first trimester, we were only given a 50% chance of having a normal, healthy baby. My wife and I were members of Cedar Park Assembly when they announced the first Presentation Sunday. We were both working in Children's Church that Sunday and were not able to be in the service, however, we knew many were aware of our situation and were praying for us. We believe that God heard the prayers of our hearts that day. Less than six months later we were pregnant again. God blessed us with a wonderful, healthy baby boy, Michael. He was dedicated on the next Presentation Sunday. When Michael was two years old, we decided to try again. We began on Presentation Sunday with the laying on of hands and the prayers of the church. Three weeks later we were pregnant. We had already picked his name, Nathan. It wasn't until the fifth month of the pregnancy that we learned the meaning of his name - Gift of God. Nathan was born in November and dedicated on the next Presentation Sunday!
Miracle Adoption Baby! The parents in this story wish to remain anonymous. Our story is very unique, special and a true gift from God. My husband & I had been trying to have a baby for seven years. After my first pregnancy, IVF and miscarriage, we attended Cedar Park Church on Presentation Sunday during an intense grieving period. I felt a great sense of powerful love all around me. Several months later my husband and I prayed outloud together for the first time, asking God for a miracle to bless us with a child. The very next day, a friend informed me of a young woman that had just given birth that day and wanted to place the baby for adoption. She had made no previous arrangements. My husband and I met our son when he was just five hours old and we immediately fell in love with him and started the adoption process (which we were not prepared for!) We feel God answered our prayers and this baby was meant for us! Your baby will find you when the time is right, don't give up!
Woosley FamilyT.J. and Carole Woosley knew they wanted a family since the day they were married. They tried all the normal methods and even looked into adoption. They had always desired two healthy babies and were not sure where they would come from - another country, this country or from themselves. They looked into in-vitro fertilization and rode the emotional roller coaster of three failed attempts. On a Monday they heard that their third attempt had failed. That next Saturday they saw the ad in the paper about Cedar Park's Presentation Service, so after attending their church service the next morning, they came to Cedar Park and were prayed for at the altars. For the next couple of months many people from all over the country continued to pray for them. Carole absolutely believed that she would become pregnant. Their next attempt at in-vitro fertilization was two months later and in two weeks the pregnancy was confirmed! In fact, Carole's hormone levels came back so high that an ultrasound was ordered that revealed there were twins! The boys spent their first 33 days of the life at the University of Washington because they were born on October 10, over two months early. Carter Thomas (2 lbs 15 oz) and James Christian (2 lbs 9 oz) are now both well over 8 lbs and doing well. T.J. knows that their faith played the biggest role - he knows that God answers prayers!! |
