Dalpez Family - Camden, Rylan, Kaelan Joy
We first attended at the Presentation Sunday service in January of 2004. We had struggled with multiple miscarriages and some infertility prior to the birth of our first son in 2001. Even though it had taken years and many prayers and tears to realize our dream of becoming parents the first time, we were sure it wouldn't take as long the second time. Unfortunately we were incorrect. When our first son was 12 months old, we began fertility treatments in an effort to have a second child. After 5 insemination attempts, another miscarriage, and three rounds of failed invitro-fertilization, we were told by our doctors to pursue adoption. That's where we found ourselves when we attended your prayer service in January of 2004. We left that service with such hope. We didn't know whether we would have another child through adoption, additional fertility treatment, or a miracle. But, we were sure there was another child out there for us. We immediately began the process of getting approved for adoption. In the spring of 2004, we had received approval to adopt, had met with an adoption attorney, and even written our "Dear Birth Mother" letter. For some reason, we didn't feel led to send it out and instead decided to talk with a fertility specialist in New York about potentially doing In-Vitro one more time. While there, we were told we could only attempt it once and were given about a 25% chance of conceiving even with their advanced protocol. We received no treatment while we were there and in fact had not undergone any fertility treatment since the previous fall. When we arrived home, we were shocked to find that I was pregnant with our little miracle, Rylan who was born on December 20th, 2004. God is so good. We felt so thankful for the gift of this precious child as well as the pregnancy. The fact that we were able to conceive him without medical intervention was so amazing, we would never have hoped to conceive a third time. We thought that perhaps we would adopt one day, but were more than satisfied with our two little boys. God had a different plan. We found out in the Spring of last year that we had once again conceived and are due to deliver our little girl, Kaelan Joy, tomorrow morning. So, we won't be able to attend the service this year, but want you to know how grateful we are for the prayer we received at the service in 2004. We are so thankful to our Lord for blessing us with all three of our children; all of whom are such gifts. I just want you to encourage all the couples who are struggling with this painful situation. God is so good and He does answer prayer. Our children are worth all the pain and struggles we went through in our desire to become parents. I feel strongly that I went through that struggle in order to help other women who are facing similar pain. I've been able to be encourage so many women based on our shared struggles and feel so fortunate for that. God gives us the strength to get through any situation and I have to believe that his purpose for our infertility was so that we could be an encouragement for others. We are holding onto that same faith now as we work through the day-to-day difficulties of having a child with Autism. Our oldest son, Camden, was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome just before his fourth birthday. The only way I can make sense of my precious child being afflicted with this debilitating condition is that once again, God is going to use it for some good in our lives and others.
Gordon & Katherine Cress and Gabriel
We had been married for five years and still no baby. Friends from Seattle had invited us to the Presentation Sunday for three years...and we finally attended in January of 2005. Two months later we became pregnant with our beautiful baby boy, Gabriel Thomas Cress who was born on November 29th, 2005. This is God’s story of His goodness. We are absolutely delighted and grateful for the gift and honor of being a Daddy and Mommy.
Paul and Nicole Haglund, Jaquelin, Gabriel, and Emma
We were prayed for on Presentation Sunday in 2000 and 2001. In May of 2001 we felt that God chose to build our family through the miracle of adoption. We brought our daughter Jaquelin home from Guatemala in June of 2002. Just as we were beginning a second international adoption, God surprised us again with the a birth brother of our daughter being born on November 11,2003. We brought Gabriel home in December 2004. In October of 2005 we were completely surprised to find out that we were pregnant—13 weeks at that point! Due to Nicole’s Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and lack of ovulation, this was a definite miracle of God. Our daughter Emma Grace was born on April 28, 2006. We believe that God did not allow us to conceive sooner because he had two little miracles that needed to come home first. When we leave the desire of our heart in God’s hands it is AMAZING what he will do!!! He is faithful to do MUCH more than we could ever ask or even imagine.
Cecil and Kim Brooks, Nathan and Preston
We started trying to get pregnant in 2003 with no success and so we went for prayer on Presentation Sunday 2004. After several more months we decided to seek medical attention. The doctors determined we had a reason for our infertility, and we would have a good chance with IVF/ICSI. We prayed and felt God's leading us to proceed. We went through a cycle in January 2005, (on Presentation Sunday!). Within a couple months we not only found out we were pregnant, but were having twins. Nathan Lawrence and Preston Robert were born almost 11 weeks early on August 4, 2005 and after ten long weeks in the hospital God answered ourprayers when we took home two healthy baby boys.
Andy, Julia, & Lani Graves
We attended Presentation Sunday 2004, and heard many stories about infertility. We had been trying for a child for about 4 years. Having just started infertility treatment, we were told that it would be a miracle if we had a child. I had heard about IVF, but was reluctant to try it. We found an amazing clinic and truly felt God's hand on the whole situation. We did IVF and got pregnant on the first try. We had our precious angel, Lani Kathleen on June 6, 2005. We thank God everyday for her, and find it a blessing to be able to share our story with others.
Matt, Kirsten & Kaitlin
We had been married 3 yrs. before we started trying to have children and we expected immediate results. When things didn't go as planned we started asking why and seeking God. After much pain, prayer, time and growth we realized God had a different plan for us and boy did He get our attention. We had decided to adopt siblings and had gone through the whole process. Then the day our home study was complete we found out Kirsten was pregnant! God did a big work in our marriage and in our hearts and we thank Him everyday for our little girl, she is truly a blessing. Only HE knew when the right time was for us to become parents...5 yrs later than what we thought! |
