"The Good Guy Club"

Emphasizing the importance of faith, character, and determination, The Good Guy Club supports men in search of a more meaningful and satisfying life.      

Club Topics of weekly discussion and education include:

  • Personal & Professional Goals
  • Anger
  • Relationship & Marriage Issues
  • Stress
  • Conflict Management
  • Opportunities for Support & Networking

A small fee per session is required.  The Good Guy Club meets every Wednesday between 7-9 p.m. at The Cedar Park - Northshore Church in Kenmore.

"Alcohol and Drug Services Program"

Cedar Park Church has its own professional, state-certified program (through Cedar Park Counseling Network) for the assessment and treatment of alcohol and drug abuse and addiction.  CPCN provides quality and affordable counseling services for people struggling with these critical life issues.

The following services, groups or classes are offered in this unique program:

"Valiant Man" Series

Developing and maintaining healthy sexuality is every man's challenge. Valiant Man is a 10-session DVD class with study and devotional guide designed to educate, strengthen and encourage men in their quest to experience a life of healthy and fulfilling sexuality.     

Sessions include:

  • A Vision for Manhood
  • The Understanding Man
  • The Arena of Healing
  • Retraining Your Brain
  • The Sexual Man
  • Taking a Stand
  • The Origin, Power & Purpose of Sex
  • Guarding Your Heart
  • The Cycle of Addiction
  • Realistic Expectations

When 10 men have signed up, Danny will start a new 10-week Valiant Man Series for men wanting to be educated, encouraged and supported in their desire to maintain lives of healthy sexuality). Danny McKenzie is a Marriage and Family Therapist with Cedar Park Counseling Network. A $30 study/ devotional workbook purchase is required along with a $10 or $20 weekly class fee (fee depends on the number of men who attend the class).

"Successful Anger Management"

Successful Anger Management is more than acquiring information and utilizing techniques, it is about using our “heavy emotions” to experience personal growth, encourage honest and safe relationships, and expand our commitment toward civic and spiritual accountability.

Two Types of Classes Are Offered:   (1) a 10-week introduction workshop designed for the general community and (2) an eight- and sixteen-hour Saturday class designed for court-ordered clients (presented in one or two class sessions).

Topics include:

  • Healthy communication skills
  • Grief & Loss
  • Substance abuse
  • Stress reduction
  • Domestic violence / IPV
  • Relaxation

"Parenting Support" Class for Homeschooling/Working Mothers

Learn ways to:

  • Manage your stress
  • Understand your emotional needs
  • Communicate better with your spouse
  • Solve difficult "parenting" problems

Mei Sims, MA, LMHC, a helpful and experienced "Parenting Coach," offers practical and helpful support for homeschooling and working mothers. Class will meet on Monday evenings for 5-6 weeks in Bothell or Bellevue when 5 or more people have signed up. "Changes for Healing" Class

This interactive class, providing valuable tools for relationship building and healing, regularly meets on Sundays at 9am in Room 209 of the Cedar Park High School.... but will "take a break for a few months and gather again in January 2010. This is a class in practical Christianity-- "How to connect with other people, with God, and with yourself."

Mary West Brandenburg, LMHC is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, an Adjunct Professor in the School of Graduate Psychology at Northwest University, and a licensed, ordained minister. "Healthy Life Solutions" Video & Discussion Series with "Dr. T"

 

Watch an interesting, informative video each week presenting a Christ-centered approach to relationships and counseling. And then join Dr. Phil Templeton in a lively, interactive discussion of biblical solutions we explore these and other difficult problems that people face today:

"Unintended Journey" (A Group for Women)

Have you experienced pain & heartache because of sexual betrayal by someone you loved and trusted (a spouse, fiancé, or boyfriend)? You are not alone. Many of our men have been caught up in sexual affairs, Internet & other types of pornography, etc.

Join with other women engaged in the same unintended journey.  Not everyone will be in the same place of processing what has happened.  We come together to share our experience, strength, and hope.  Come & be restored to your own heart. Let us, as women, heal together.

Unintended Journey is an educational, confidential, support/process group. The cost is $30 per session, paid in advance.
