Understanding the Cathedral Church

Cedar Park is a Cathedral Church.

The Cathedral Model is not about architecture or the size of the building... it is about building a ministry. Simply put, a Cathedral Church is a local church functioning in an inspirational and leadership capacity through a variety of ministries. All these ministries serve the broader church and community.

When most people think of a church, they think of a worship service, Sunday School, and a youth program. A Cathedral Church is all of that, but its essence reaches beyond those traditional programs. It is concerned with the fullness of Christian ministry throughout a region.

Among the ministries of our church that help define the Cathedral Church are:

School of the Arts
Cedar Park Athletic Association

The distinguishing characteristic of each of these ministries is that they serve the broad Christian community and act as an outreach to our neighbors.
